This year First Christian Church is doing something different for Christmas Eve service. Instead of having a traditional christmas eve service, we are going to do just the opposite we are going to serve. We are going to provide a meal to the community for free. We need as many volunteers as possible to come out and support this cause. We need cooks, waiters, greeters, dish washers, people for live nativity, etc… So come out and help us with our Christmas Eve “Service.”

The annual church meeting will be on Dec 11. There will be a change in scheduling for services on that day. Sunday School at 9, church at 10, followed by meeting at 11. The congregational dinner will be at 12 immediately following the meeting.

The Community Thanksgiving Service will be at First Christian Church this year starting at 6 followed by dinner.

This years church revival will be help November 13 -15. Sunday at 6, Monday and Tuesday at 6:30. Claude Howell from Evergreen Christian Church in Salem IL will be speaking all 3 nights.

We are having a special service, on 9/11 in remembrance of the 10 years since 9/11. We are honored to be able to gather together in the name of Jesus and celebrate the freedoms and blessings he has given us this sunday. September 11, 2011 at 10:30 following sunday school. (Reminder there will be no first service. )

Reminder this Sunday we are trying something new during second service. YouVersion has a Live function in their bible app. When you get to church enter your Holy Bible app, and click on live and search for FIrst Christian Church, Flora IL. There you will find Sunday’s sermon notes, points, and scripture right at your finger tips.

Once download click on the version normally top left, and click on the download functions that way you have a hard copy actually on your device. Even when you don’t have internet you can still have a functioning bible.

We need your help, Saturday July 30th 7 a.m. Meet at the clothes closet and help load up the remaining items and help move them across town.

There will be a congregational meeting on June 26, during the Sunday School time. There will be a vote allowing the elders to pursue Feasibility Studies, and Fund Raising, towards the building project.
